Pre-Restoration
Condition

- The black
Kurla basalt and white porbandar limestone (as the ornamental part) was painted with
several layers of oil-paint over a stubborn cement primer.
- The
massive cornice was broken at several places running into several feet.
- The
beautiful ornamental façade needed finishing work at places like columns, cornices,
idols, door frames etc.
- Vegetational
growth was seen all over the façade.

The Restoration Program
- The hard
Kurla basalt was cleaned using the conventional sand blasting technique.
- The soft
Porbander limestone was cleaned delicately, using special suction blast equipment.
- The
ornamental Limestone and cornice were restored.
