Land Clearing
 |
 |
The land adjacent to the
fort wall was shifted with mud and debris of the old dismantled structures , which
retained moisture for prolonged period.
The land fill was removed from site to reveal some archaeological remainents.

Reconstitution of Damaged Brick Masonry
 |
Part of brick masonry on the
top edge of the inner wall had failed. A seperate crack 5-7 cms wide was endangering
the structural integrity of the fort wall. |
| The damaged brick masonry was
removed and keys with the old masonry are made. New clay bricks of almost similar size as
the old ones were sourced and used. New masonry was provided set in lime mortar in the
original way. The top is finished with lime concrete with adequate slope. |

Inserting RCC
bracket and slab to support the collapsing room on the bastion ( outside )

The
overhanging cantilever room on the bastion was supported on black stone brackets. These
brackets and the stone slab suporting the room had failed due to inherent defects of stone
( flaking, splitting )
Temporary
I-beam support had been inserted to prevent collapse , by the trust.
The place was
difficult to access due to steeply sloping ground outside.
New RCC
brackets were provided of similar shape, without any decoration, inserted 90cms
deep into the wall.
Suitable
Polymers and admixtures were used to improve the qaulity of the concrete.
The gap
between the slab and the old wall was filled by brick masonry in lime mortar.
